I get random ideas that seem like they have potential. I want a counter/bar on the back patio but I want to make it different. Living in Las Vegas I find most look the same. Same stucco. Same tile. To be different I want to make my own tiles. Each one with memorabilia for a year. When this idea hit me we started saving various items from events we attended. We have a bag full of items from 2012. Concert tickets, room keys, poker chips, football and basketball game tickets, etc. It was necessary to make a trial run so we made coasters yesterday. We learned a lot about what we need to do better and different when we do the real tile.
It's amazing what you can do with a few trinkets and some epoxy resin. In the next couple weeks we are going to make the larger tile. It will be 12x24.
