I have always wanted to make a Double Wedding Ring quilt, but the idea of all the little pieces and the curves was just scary. I think it is time to try. I am on a mission to use up some of the many 30s prints I have and they are perfect for the DWR. I figure with the Go Cutter, it would be pretty easy.
Hence, my new toy. Of course I have not started on the quilt yet.....sorta. As soon as I opened the box I had to try cutting out just a few pieces to see how they look. Now I have to restrain myself for a little bit. The dies cut the pieces with notches to line up so I am expecting it will come together easily. At least that I what I am telling myself right now. According to my friend I started a new quilt but I am going have to say until I sew on it, it is not official!! I would start sewing this weekend, but I will be headed to the Road to California Quilt Show. I have never been to a large quilt show so it will be a lot of fun.

Good luck! I bought an Accuquilt for myself for Christmas and am extremely disappointed with it. There's an incredible amount of wasted fabric (which is wasted money!) plus my cut blocks were NOT consistent in size/shape. I've been told that it works better if the fabric is starched but that's not a step I'm willing to take.
I have this toy, and have the die as well. I, like Sara, have some resevations about the Go Cutter. I have been using batik scraps for my double wedding rings, but have put it aside as no one announced their engagment this summer!
I did a small double ring quilt using Christmas fabrics and did it the old fashioned way--course that was before all the new rulers came out!! but sometimes that is the only way to go!!
can you stick me in your pocket so I can go to the quilt show toooo????
hugs, di and miss gracie
Excuse me, aren't you supposed to be working on UFOs/WiPs not starting new projects? LOL
That looks so pretty. Enjoy the quilt show!
Enjoy the new toy. You are not starting a new project you are using up scraps, there is a very big difference.
Enjoy the quilt show!
