I added a narrow blue border to break up some of the black. On the other quilt the border is red. I laid the quilt over my pool table thinking it would cover the top. It did and then some.
This quilt started out as an idea of just piecing the bandanas with sashing and adding a border. Easy stuff...maybe a weekend of work. It seemed to take on a life of its own when I added the red/blue borders around the bandanas. Then came the embroidery ideas and before I knew it, I had this massive quilt. The top border of this one has the Ford Racing and Sprint Cup logos with the year in the opposite corner. The corner stones are the Roush Fenway 25th anniversary logo. The year seemed appropriate since it is the anniversary.Good thing I am sending it to my LAQ for quilting. I cannot begin to imagine pinning this puppy. It would take weeks and every inch of my body would hurt. LOL
I should have the second quilt done and pictures posted soon. I have to say I like the other one better.
I guess now I should really concentrate on my Christmas quilts if I want to have them all done. I have three of the eleven tops done.

I like that narrow border too. Thank goodness for Long Armers! Any quilt much wider than 45 inches to the long armer it goes! Thanks for sharing.
Such a fun quilt. Love all the embroidery details. Can't wait to see the other one.
Wow, that is one big quilt. I agree with the blue, it breaks it up just enough. Love the colors, can't wait to see it quilted.
Fun quilt. Congratulations on testing it finished up. Looks like quite an undertaking.
