Design Wall Monday 10/17

Over the River and Through the Woods by Crabapple Hill
I actually have two things to share one my design wall.  One is on the wall, one is a hand project.

I finally finished the tracing of my embroidery so I could begin the stitching.  I fully realize it will take YEARS to complete, but that works for me.  I just love this quilt.  A friend asked me today who this quitl is for and I said ME.  I have wanted to do it forever and I am not giving it away.  The pattern is by Crabapple Hill.  I love all their patterns and would love to have the entire collection.  One at a time......

Plan C Schnibble quilt
I am almost done with my Schnibble quilt.  I hoped to finish it this morning, but there was more to it than I thought.  I have one last row to add and the borders.  The piano key border is pieced and ready to go.  Just assembly required.

Be sure to check out the other design walls at Judy's blog.  Always great stuff happening.

Wow, you really have set yourself a challenge with your embroidery. I'm sure it will be nice to work on and fun to complete.

You might be surprised how quickly you will finish the embroidery. Since you are using only one color of floss, put the panel in a zip-bag, with a hoop and extra floss and then toss it in a tote. Take the tote with you to work and do some at lunch or during breaks. Take it with you to the doctor's office and work in the waiting room. You will turn waiting time into productive time.

Love the Scnibble quilt.

That won't take you years. I started mine last June and the top is complete. This year I started the Snow Days and I think this one might take years. Actually there are 14 different panels to embroider and I'm on #5. It won't be done for Christmas though.

Have fun with your Crabapple hill project. I've visited her studio and there are so many cute projects in there, I couldn't choose just one! Using it as your take-a-long project will help it get done sooner.

I agree with everyone else, you will be surprised how quick the embroidery goes. Love both projects. I think I am the only quilter around that has not made a Schnibble quilt. :( Must fix that!

I saw that quilt on a shop hop, didn't buy the pattern, and have been regretting it ever since! Yeah, I know I could order it online, but it's not quite the same. And I probably shouldn't buy it until I have actual plans to start it.

Good for you, getting yours traced!
